Enugu State Government Signs $ Loan Deal to Boost Women’s Empowerment

The Enugu State Government has taken a significant step towards advancing women’s empowerment by signing a Subsidiary Loan Agreement for the Nigeria for Women Project.

This project, implemented through the Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, aims to improve the livelihoods of women in Enugu State through enhanced access to livelihood support, financial services, and capacity building.

Key Components of the Project:

  • Women Affinity Groups: Establishment of groups to support women in business and entrepreneurship
  • Grants: Provision of grants to women-led businesses and entrepreneurs
  • Training: Training on financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills development
  • Financial Inclusion: Enhanced access to financial services for women
  • Capacity Building: Capacity building for women to participate in decision-making processes
