Enugu State Government’s Swift Response to Ritual Killing Den

The Enugu State Government has taken decisive action in response to the recent ritual killing den discovered in Ndiagu Umumba, Ezeagu Local Government Area. Following the rescue of Miss Ukamaka Okonkwo from the alleged ritualist and kidnapper, Obi Levi Obieze, Governor Peter Mbah directed the relocation of the survivor to a state facility in Enugu for comprehensive therapy and rehabilitation.

Support for the Survivor

  • Full Scholarship: Governor Mbah has awarded Miss Okonkwo a full scholarship, covering her education from her current level to university.
  • Rehabilitation Program: The Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development will provide therapies and counseling to help Miss Okonkwo recover from the trauma she experienced.
  • Reintegration into Society: After completing her rehabilitation program, the government plans to reintegrate Miss Okonkwo back into society, ensuring she fulfills her potential.

Condolences to the Affected Family.

The government delegation, led by Commissioner Mrs. Ngozi Enih, also visited the parents of the late Chimaobi Ezih to commiserate with them over the tragic death of their son. The government shared its pain and reaffirmed its commitment to justice.

Investigation And Justice

  • Identifying the Deceased Pregnant Woman: The government is working to establish the identity of the pregnant woman found dead at the scene, to locate her family and ensure justice is served.
  • Collaboration with Security Agencies: The government is collaborating with security agencies to track down and bring those still at large to face justice.

Zero Tolerance for Crime

The Enugu State Government has demonstrated its zero-tolerance stance on crime by demolishing the property linked to the dastardly acts. The government will continue working with security agencies to ensure those responsible face justice, appeasing the spirits and souls of the deceased and keeping society safe.
