Fake Doctor Arrested After Performing Surgery On A Former APC Chairman

According to the Nigerian Tribune, a quack doctor named Andrew Godwin was detained by the Joint Taskforce Base 14 in Boi, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State regarding the death of a patient.

The Nasarawa State native was detained on September 25, 2022, for performing a failed surgery that resulted in the death of Joshua Haruna, a 45-year-old patient.

The deceased, a local in Gambar Lere, served as Sen. Lawal Yahaya Gumau’s campaign director and the former ward chairman of the APC in Bogoro’s Boi C ward.

The suspect has allegedly been operating his unlawful enterprise with unsuspecting members of the public while residing in Gambar Sabon Layi in Tafawa Balewa for several years.

The suspect works as a medical chemist but does not possess a medical license or other authorization from the appropriate authorities to do so.

According to reports, he cut open his patient’s stomach and left him there until the next day.

According to an unconfirmed account from the locals, Mr Andrew Godwin had unsuccessfully operated on several patients who later died as a result of complications.

The JTF personnel who detained him stated that the phony health worker had been turned over to the police in the Bogoro Division for further investigations.
