Akon, a Senegalese-American singer, revealed that despite their fame, many musicians are not as financially secure as people frequently believe.
According to him, musicians are frequently not the highest earners in the industry, despite the fact that their public personas may give the impression that they are wealthy.
Speaking in an interview with Hip Hop Eye, Akon explained that those behind the scenes tend to make more money than the artistes themselves.
He said;
“In the music industry, the artist is the last to get paid. He is the broke one but he is the most famous. If you want to be broke and famous, be the artist,” he said.
“But if you want to make real money go to other sectors of music business, like the producer, songwriter, manager, agent and attorney. There are so many areas in the entertainment field that you can really maximise.”
Hmmmm! This situation clearly shows that appearances can be deceiving, and it reminds us never to judge a book by its cover. Even those who seem successful and famous may be facing their own struggles and challenges behind the scenes. It’s a valuable lesson to approach others with understanding and compassion, recognizing that everyone’s true story is often more complex than it appears.
