Farmer Allegedly Kills Herder For Grazing Cattle On His Farm

Farmer Paul Amaechi was taken into custody by the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly killing a herder who was grazing cattle on his property in Telemu village, Ago-Owu, Ayedaade Local Government Area, Ondo State.

There are growing suspicions that Amaechi was involved in the deceased’s death after it was reported that the herder’s disfigured body was discovered on his property on Thursday.

The bodies of the deceased have been removed from the scene of the crime, according to Kehinde Adeleke, a spokeswoman for the Osun NSCDC Command, who verified the occurrence on Friday, November 24.

Adeleke, a herder who allegedly observed the incident that resulted in the murder of the victim, reported at a police station in Orile Owu. He said that cattle had previously grazed on Amaechi’s land, which caused him and other local farmers to lay in wait for them.
