The Federal High Court Lagos Division is going digital. From April 27, 2026, all new case filings must be done electronically.
The Court has announced that manual filing of new cases will end on April 24. From then on, lawyers must use the new e-filing platform. Cases already filed before the transition will continue under the manual system until judgment.
According to a statement, any understatement of claims or misrepresentation of documents will attract a ₦10,000 penalty per filing, plus outstanding fees.
To access the platform, lawyers must obtain a Legal Mail account. Law firms must also upload their CAC registration documents. Oath-related documents will go through the e-Affidavit portal, though deponents must still appear before a Commissioner for Oaths.
