In honor of Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the conclusion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the Federal Government has designated Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, released the statement on behalf of the Federal Government. Magdalene Ajani, the ministry’s permanent secretary, said in a statement on Tuesday that the minister sent Muslims a heartfelt congratulations on successfully completing the fasting period.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Tunji-Ojo asked Muslims to uphold the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice.
The statement added, “The Federal Government remains committed to fostering national unity and peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians.”
