Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, has received Order of the Niger (OON) national honors from the Federal Government.
Each player will receive $100,000 and a flat. Following their historic fifth consecutive #AfroBasketWomen victory, President Bola Tinubu visited the team on Monday night and made the announcement.
Nigeria defeated Mali 78-64 in a gritty match in the final on Sunday, showcasing their fortitude and poise to win their eighth AfroBasket championship.
Following Nigeria’s tenth victory in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco last week, the President presented the Super Falcons with comparable national honors and presents.
