Final Year ESUT Student Found Dead In Her Room With Male Friend

Mbah Ezinne, a final year student at Enugu State University of Science and Technology, was discovered dead in her room.

The Department of Anatomy final year student’s lifeless body was discovered in her apartment after she was last seen in her church on July 31, 2023.

On Monday, August 14, 2023, one of her brothers, Mbah Samson, shared a Facebook post by one Akalu Moon, who accused a lady, Anita Josephine Ogona, of damaging late Ezinne’s image online. The deceased was also allegedly murdered, according to the statement.

The deceased, a beloved member of the church community, was said to have attended a praise night with her friends on Friday, July 28, 2023. The group dispersed around 4 a.m. on Saturday to prepare for the Youth Day celebrations on Sunday, July 30.

According to SaharaReporters, once the church service began on Sunday, Ezinne’s friends and relatives tried to call her, but a voice prompt stated that her cell number was not accessible.

Chisom Onyedikachi told the publication that she and other friends and family members got concerned when they couldn’t reach Ezinne by Monday morning, July 31.

Concerned for her safety and well-being, her brother Stephen and some of her friends travelled to her home in Enugu.

They discovered Ezinne and a male friend, who happened to be her coursemate, lying on the floor when they arrived on Monday afternoon and peered through her window.

Stephen attempted to enter the flat but was advised by neighbours to contact the police before taking any more action.

The police were called, and the victims were brought to the hospital.

Ezinne was pronounced dead at the hospital, while her male friend, whose name was unknown, was revived.

It was also learned that the male companion is still fighting for his life in the hospital.

Friends and family members are hoping he may recover and be able to shed light on what happened that awful weekend.
