“Fish Them Out” – Wike Places N20m Bounty On Two Kidnappers

Two infamous kidnappers who are causing terror in the nation’s capital, Dahiru Adamu and Abu Ibrahim, had a N20m bounty placed on them by Federal Capital Territory Administration Minister Nyesom Wike.

The two Niger State-born suspects are believed to be behind the kidnapping of two defence personnel from an Army Estate as well as other prominent figures in Abuja.

The suspects were also members of the group that abducted people from Kabusa, Kutu, and other areas in the Federal Capital Territory and murdered an Abuja district chief.

Wike spoke with Bennett Igweh, the FCT Commissioner of Police, on Wednesday at the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki, Abuja, during a parade of 23 criminal suspects.

Seven members of Dahiru and Abu’s kidnapping gang—Usman Muhazu, Aliyu Muhammad, Auwal Lahiru, Rabiu Sani, Madina Abubakar, Jonah Elimelechi, and Saminu Idris—are among the detained suspects.

In the same way that they haven’t been providing FCT inhabitants any breathing room, Wike said that his administration will not offer criminals any.

“You’re still looking for two amongst them, right? Okay, I will put money on them. I have placed a N20m bounty on the two of them. Anyone who finds them would get the N20 million,” the minister said.

“Fish them out, dead or alive. We will not give them breathing space just as they’ve not been giving us breathing space,” the Minister added.

The police chief had earlier stated that, as a result of reliable information, a joint team of agents from the Utako Divisional Headquarters and the Anti-Kidnapping squad apprehended the seven suspects in Pyankasa, Tudun Wada, and Ketti village.

“However, we are still looking for two remaining members of the gang, Dahiru Adamu and Abu Ibrahim whose wives were arrested while they were about to receive a N9 million ransom on behalf of their husbands who are on the run,” the Commissioner stated.

“Members of this gang of kidnappers who have been giving the FCT sleepless nights and are on the wanted list of the command for a long time, have now been arrested. They are responsible for the kidnapping of five victims in Federal Mortgage Housing Estate, Kabusa, three persons at Ketti village, Fulani residence of Alhaji Sani, the abduction of a woman and her gate man in Kabusa Estate, one Mr Sunday Zakwai and four others. They equally killed a district head. And two staff members were kidnapped at the Defence Estate, Kabusa.”

The CP reported that 23 individuals were detained during the procession and that N9 million, six AK-47 rifles, bulletproof jackets, and a walkie-talkie made locally were found on them.

23 suspects in all, including one-chance offenders and eight infamous armed robbers, were detained, according to Igweh. Recovered from them included N9 million, six AK-47 weapons, bulletproof jackets, and a walkie-talkie made locally.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
