Five Children Dead Within 24 Hours After ‘Vomiting And Purging’

Five children died at Gidinye, a hamlet in Nasarawa State’s Jenkwe Government Area, as a result of an unknown sickness outbreak.

The Five died in less than 24 hours after complaining of stomach aches, vomiting, and purging on Monday, August 5 and 6, 2024.

A town authority who confirmed the terrible situation stated that the children had left home to farm healthily.

The children’s parents are claimed to be farmers who work along the Keana axis in the state.

Comrade Samuel Akala, the Publicity Secretary of the Migili Youth Association (MYA), verified the development and urged the government and relevant authorities to act quickly to contain the epidemic and preserve human lives.

“The circumstances that resulted in the sudden death of these children in Idah, Gidinye community on Tuesday, 6th August calls for forensic findings,” he said.

“I suggest the Center for Disease Control through PHCDA be invited to carry out disease surveillance in Keana and Obi communities where there are reported cases of acute diarrhoea, vomiting and death of children in the past few days.

“I do hope this sporadic outbreak of disease does not affect a wide range of population in this part of the state while the clinical investigation lingers.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
