Forbes Sight Mo Abudu As One Of The Most Influential Women In World

Forbes has ranked Nigerian media tycoon Mosunmola Abudu, also known as Mo Abudu, as the 99th most powerful woman in the world.

The financial journal listed Abudu, 58, the creator of the EbonyLife Group, among the top 100 most powerful women in the world.

She was honored for her extraordinary contribution to the media and entertainment industries, according to Forbes. She made the list, among other things, because of her business relationships with Sony Pictures Television, AMC Networks, and Netflix.

The partnership with Netflix was the first multi-title movie and television deal an African media organization had ever struck with the streaming behemoth.

Mo Abudu celebrated her achievement on her Instagram page. She also reached the Forbes list in 2021, coming in at number 98.

She wrote that it is an honor to have made the list in 2022 on her Instagram feed. She penned:

“Being listed and recognized on The Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women List 2022 is an honor and a privilege.

To quote Forbes: “The list was determined by four main metrics: media, impact, money and spheres of influence. For political leaders, we weighed gross domestic products and populations; for corporate leaders, revenues and employee counts; and media mentions and reach of all. The result is a collection of women who are fighting the status quo”

As I said earlier, it’s an honour to be on this list, but it does not mean I or EbonyLife are challenge free, I am no stranger to challenges, but a major obsession for me is finding ways to turn my challenges into amazing opportunities 🙏🏾

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
