Former President Bill Clinton will remain at the University of California Irvine Medical Center overnight Friday while he continues to receive treatment for a non-COVID-related infection.

The former President was checked into a hospital on Tuesday for a urinary sepsis infection.

Clinton’s spokeswoman; Angel Ureña tweeted on Friday evening.

“President Clinton continues to be treated for infection at UC Irvine Medical Center. All health indicators are moving in the right direction, including his white blood count, which has dropped significantly. To receive further IV antibiotics, he will be in the hospital overnight.”

The 42nd President is in good spirits at Irvine Medical Center in Orange, Calif., and is grateful for the worldwide support, the statement said.

On Friday afternoon, President Joe Biden spoke with Mr. Clinton by phone to wish him a fast recovery and to express that he looks forward to seeing him again, the White House said.

“Well, I wanted to see how he was doing, and because I was trying to catch him, and he’s doing fine, he is,” Biden told reporters in Connecticut. “And he’s going to be released from the hospital, and we talked, what we were going to do earlier, getting together.”

The former president, 75, was in Southern California to attend private events related to the Clinton Foundation, the Los Angeles Times reported. The report said he was hospitalized after feeling fatigued after a gathering with some friends in Orange County.
