Front-Runners To Sign Ronaldo After Contract Termination At Manchester United Revealed

Following Manchester United’s termination of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract, it has been made known which teams are the front-runners to sign the forward in the January transfer window.

Recall that Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United was terminated after the Portugal captain attacked the club, including manager Erik ten Hag, in a controversial interview with Piers Morgan last week.

Ronaldo’s remaining seven-month contract with Manchester United was cancelled, making the 37-year-old free to sign with a new team after the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Chelsea are reportedly the front-runner to sign Ronaldo, according to Betfair.

Todd Boehly, the club’s owner, was interested in the concept of Chelsea potentially acquiring Ronaldo during the summer, but Thomas Tuchel, the club’s former manager, declined the chance to add the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to his team.

Since Tuchel has now been sacked and replaced by Graham Potter, the Blues may now make a new attempt to sign Ronaldo.

According to reports, Sporting CP, who Ronaldo had previously played for in his early career, are also part of the favourites to sign him.

Newcastle United, Roma, Napoli, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and any MLS team are some of the other favourite teams to sign Ronaldo.
