Good Things And Special Orders Takes Time. PATIENCE PAYS

Jesus uses similar imagery in nature to show that the kingdom of God grows quietly but continually providing shelter and support to all who come to it. Similarly, the invisible hand of God constantly blesses us with His presence in our daily sustenance and keeps the universe in order and harmony. These are the unseen miracles of each day. In other words, what unites both parables is that the kingdom of God grows in stages. It manifests itself gradually through patience,

Often times, patience is often seen as delay or weakness; that is, an obstacle to be overcome. It takes a prayerful person who has learnt submissiveness to be Patient. Yes, the toughest part of a journey is the few steps we take at the beginning, nonetheless, fruitfulness comes at the end. Thus, the pace of nature and her secret is patience.

Many at times, we think that it is by counting our calories, going to the gym and visiting our doctors for check ups that we are alive today? They are quite commendable. On the contrary, it is God who is keeping us alive as He loves us deeply. Can you see the hand of God at work in your life? How much love do you show God in return? How often do you take God’s Loving Ways for granted? Do you love Him in others?
Are we patient or eager for results? Remember that, waiting patiently on the Lord, is the best remedy in every kind of trouble.

By extension, Jesus in today’s gospel, is not just speaking of the size of the mustard seed or the yeast in the leaven , but also pointing to the faith of the people . Telling us that just as the mustard seed or the yeast responded to the word of God and grows into a mustard tree or the leavened bread so will the faith of the people grow into great vessel through hearing and doing the word of God and so build up the kingdom of God.

Therefore, what kind of faith do we have? what do you seek first, is it the kingdom of God or earthly pleasures? Do you believe that all that Christ said about the kingdom will come to past? Do you take time to meditate on the mysteries of the kingdom through prayers that people will see you as part of the kingdom? Keep a good attitude while waiting for the Lord and remember that patience is bitter but it’s fruit is sweet.

May we continue to grow in the way which God intends and may we be willing to share our experience of growth with others. Amen
