Goodluck Jonathan Appointed Africa’s Ambassador Of Agricultural Technology

Goodluck Jonathan, a former president of Nigeria, has accepted a new position as the African Agricultural Technology Foundation’s Ambassador for “Agricultural Technology.”

This was revealed in a statement provided to journalists on Friday in Kaduna State by the AATF’s communication officer, Alex Abutu.

The appointment was essentially due to Jonathan’s track record of advocating agricultural reform on the African continent, according to AATF Executive Director Dr. Canisius Kanangire.

Dr. Canisius said, “Dr Jonathan was able to demonstrate in Nigeria that agriculture should be treated as a business and supported by relevant policies to improve the livelihoods of our growing farming population.”

Jonathan underlined his desire to promote food security and development throughout Africa while accepting the position.

The AAFT was founded in 2003 to utilize agricultural technology to meet the potential for food security in Africa.
