Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United striker, has been removed from EA Sports’ FIFA 2022 video game following accusations of abuse.

The England international was accused of causing injury to his girlfriend, Harriet Robson. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police Service is actively investigating the matter.

On Sunday, January 30, photographs from the young woman surfaced, which she claimed were the result of Greenwood’s violent actions towards her.

The club made it clear in a statement that it would not make any more comments until the facts were confirmed. It said, “Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”

Greenwood will not be training while the investigation is continuing, and he will also not be eligible for selection by interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

The Greater Manchester Police Department immediately issued its own statement, stating that a man in his twenties had been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault.

Police are continuing their investigation in order to determine the cause of the incident.

Greenwood has now been removed from FIFA 2022 as the investigation continues.

Greenwood is no longer available in the game’s offline modes following the most recent update, which was released on all platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on Tuesday, February 1, 2021.

He’s been cut from United’s squad and isn’t available to play for the virtual England team.

Greenwood’s FIFA 2022 Ultimate team contract, according to the Manchester Evening News, is still active.

The striker is also still available for trade in the FUT 22 transfer market.

At the time of his removal, Greenwood was rated 79 out of 99, with a potential rating of 90.

Cadbury has also stated that Greenwood would not be featured on any of their marketing materials, while Nike has also stated that they are not affiliated with the United striker.
