Groom Shows Up At Wedding To Meet His Gorgeously Dressed Bride, Wearing T-Shirt And Trousers

A man who showed up for his wedding wearing jeans and a t-shirt with a statement across the front has received a lot of backlashes.

Many have questioned whether he “knew he was getting married.”

Violet Price, a TikTok user, posted a now-famous video on the app, featuring her gorgeous “best friend” Catherine Nicholson marrying her casually-dressed groom.

According to Yorkshire Live, the video has been seen over 1.5 million times.

Many social media users were offended by the surprise groom’s perceived lack of effort when it came to his outfit.

The groom wore a black t-shirt from the streetwear brand Palm Angels, which he teamed with grey washed trousers and trainers for the special occasion.

Catherine, 16, chose a more classic look for her wedding gown, opting for a white mermaid type gown with a belted waist and a long lace train.

Catherine and Violet were shown having a good time on a fairground ride, with Violet captioning the video, “My best friend a couple of months ago telling me she ain’t gonna fall in love.”

Both could be heard shouting in the background, “I ain’t falling in love this summer, I do my thing this summer” just before the video switches to Catherine on her wedding day, just two months later.

Many social media users also voiced their opinions on Catherine’s rush in marriage, with many claiming that it seemed like too little time for such a major engagement.

A user said: “Everyone talking about what he’s wearing but I’m thinking how a couple of MONTHS before her wedding she didn’t wanna fall in love…”

“She’s not exactly giving happy in love vibes tbf,” said another, implying that the photographs from the wedding day did not portray a radiant bride.

A third said: “Okay but his outfit aside, sis don’t even look happy.”

Though the marriage had already elicited some criticism, many people were outraged by the groom’s choice of attire – and didn’t hold back in expressing their displeasure.

Someone asked: “Did he not know he was getting married?”

Another said: “Wedding at 5. Wetherspoons with the lads’ at 6.”

“I would’ve done a u-turn as soon as I saw him,” a third added, referencing to Catherine’s efforts for the big day.

“Imagine putting all the effort into looking beautiful & then your ‘fiancé’ shows up like THAT?”
