Herbalist Rapes Customer, Dupes Her Of N10 Million

Ekiti Herbalist, Nurudeen Ibraheem has been arrested by the State Police Command for rape and extortion under false pretences.

The herbalist was paraded alongside 29 other accused for varieties of crimes, including kidnapping, robbery, and cultism.

According to the Police Spokesperson, DSP Sunday Abutu, the suspect was apprehended by the Command’s Anti-Fraud Unit at Aramoko-Ekiti.

DSP Sunday stated that the herbalist reportedly conned a 50-year-old businesswoman from Ogundele Street, Agbado in Ogun State of ten million four hundred thousand naira (#10,400,000:00) and raped her multiple times.

According to Abutu, the victim explained that she had met the suspect in Aramoko, Ekiti, at some point in September 2019 when her business was lagging and had been instructed to do some rituals with him to help it grow and stabilize.

She described how the herbalist had received eight million naira ($8,000,000.00) through bank transfers and an extra two million, four hundred thousand naira ($2,400,000.00) in cash from her as the price of the rituals between September 2019 and 2021.

She also claimed that since then, the suspect had had more than three instances of unlawful carnal knowledge of her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone, including her husband.

After noticing negative symptoms all over her body, ceasing to menstruate, losing her business, and becoming seriously ill, the victim decided to confide in her family. A family member then called the police, who then arrested the herbalist.

The accused confessed to extorting the victim of eight million naira (#8,000,000:00) in order to help her with prayers that will increase her business.
