“Hope Uzodinma Is A Failure” – Gov. Wike

Barr. Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has slammed Senator Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, calling him a failure.

The governor spoke at a grand event in Owerri on Wednesday in honor of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

Wike claimed that Uzodimma’s failure would make things easy for the PDP to reclaim Imo’s governorship in 2024.

The only mistake the PDP can make, he claims, is failing to work together to achieve victory.

Wike asked the party’s supporters in Imo to put aside their differences and work together for victory.

He said, “One of the reasons I came is to tell you that capturing the governorship of Imo State is in our hands. The man that is here has failed. The only mistake we will make is for us not to work together. And we can’t make that mistake. We will support you.

“APC has failed at the national level, they have kept Nigeria under tension. Look at what they are doing with the signing of the electoral act. A party that cannot hold a convention; is that a party? Nigerians are tired of APC.

“PDP will take over Imo and at the national level. Go and tell your brother (referring to Uzodimma) that I said so. Some of you here who are spies should go and tell him. Nobody can intimidate you. Don’t be afraid. The days when the fourth person becomes the first are gone. It can never happen again.”

Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s National Chairman, stated in his speech that the party will take over the country’s leadership in 2023.

According to Ayu, the APC-led federal administration does not listen to the people and so must be voted out.

He asked Imo’s party leaders to work together and support one another.

Chief Okezie Ikpeazu, Deputy Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and governor of Abia State, claimed that Imo clearly belongs to the PDP.

No one will ambush the party again, according to Ikpeazu, to seize its win at the court.

Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the state’s former governor, claimed that the PDP had won every election in Imo and that the party had learned from its mistakes.

Ihedioha urged everyone to keep their faith.

Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the PDP’s National Secretary, stated that the party had a common opponent which is APC.

Anyanwu declared that the PDP in the state is unified and that he will never use his position to persecute anyone.

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
