“I Am Embarrassed At Manchester United” – David de Gea

David de Gea, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, has admitted to feeling “embarrassed” by his club’s overall performance.

The goalkeeper has been the club’s number one for the past decade and has seen his share of ups and downs, with this season probably being the club’s most difficult so far.

United is attempting to salvage Champions League football after a disappointing season, but their chances of finishing in the top four are dwindling. They were unable to contest for the FA Cup, EPL Cup, or Champions League this season, and currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League, six points behind Arsenal in fourth place despite having played one more game.

The club’s future looks brighter after the arrival of Ajax manager Erik ten Hag last week. The Dutchman met with United officials last month to discuss becoming the club’s permanent manager and will take over from interim coach Ralf Rangnick at the end of the current season.

Manchester United have 4 Premier League games left this season, but they have won just two of their previous ten games in all competitions, in what has been a very terrible performance. This season will see not only a change in the dugout but also a complete overhaul of the club’s playing group.

Even De Gea’s future is uncertain, as United appears to be on the verge of a major rebuild, with Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, and Jesse Lingard all ready to leave as free agents, while the club will continue to listen to bids for a number of other players this summer.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
