“I Will Donate My Wealth In My Life Time” – Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has stated that he will be donating his $124 billion wealth.

This was disclosed by Bezos in a face-to-face interview with CNN. He stated that he intends to give the majority of his net wealth to charity organizations during his lifetime; these funds will be used to fight climate change and to aid those who can help to mend political and social barriers.

When asked if he plans to donate the majority of his fortune during his lifetime, Bezos replied, “Yeah, I do.”

Speaking from his home in Washington, DC, with his partner Lauren Sanchez, Bezos said: “The hard part is figuring out how to do it in a levered way.

“It’s not easy. Building Amazon was not easy. It took a lot of hard work, a bunch of very smart teammates, hard-working teammates, and I’m finding — and I think Lauren is finding the same thing — that charity, philanthropy, is very similar.”

However, he did not give a precise percentage or say how the money will be used.

Bezos made this pronouncement shortly after awarding Dolly Parton a $100 million prize for showing “love and compassion in every aspect of her work.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
