Investigations To Begin On Samuel Eto’s Match Fixing Charges

Former Barçalona striker and current President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto has been accused of match-fixing and bribing someone to issue threats.

According to The Athletic, Samuel Eto’o is facing significant allegations detailed in a paper submitted to FIFA’s Ethics Committee. The current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation is accused of match-fixing, distributing false information, making threats, instigating violence, and ‘abuse of power.’

The file, which was presented by former FECAFOOT vice-president Henry Njalla Quan Junior, is also being probed by the Confederation of African Football. The Federation has already stated that an inquiry against Eto’o for improper conduct is currently underway.

Njalla Quan Junior accused Eto’o of fixing a match between his academy and Kumba City FC, calling it “the most scandalous in the history of mankind.”

Njalla also accused the former Barcelona star of unfairly assisting Victori United, a team affiliated with his “close associate” Valentine Nkwain, in gaining promotion.

Victoria United, a football team from Limbe, Cameroon, lost four out of their first seven games. However, the team secured promotion by winning 11 of their final 17 matches of the season.

The Athletic also said that Njalla Quan Junior’s relationship with Eto’o became increasingly difficult and hateful, with the latter apparently bribing someone to threaten the former FECAFOOT vice-president.

“I am a mafia of this revolution and in this specific mafia, we do not betray our leaders. I have protected the interest of our mission till date.

“However, if you f**k with me be ready to carry the load of the circumstances,” Eto’s alleged threat letter to Njalla Quan Junior read.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
