Jennifer Lawrence Denies Rumours About ‘Fling’ With Liam Hemsworth

According to Hunger Games co-star Jennifer Lawrence, it is “not true” that she had a “secret fling” with Liam Hemsworth while he was dating singer Miley Cyrus.

Cyrus’ song Flowers, which was released in January, included references to the two, leading to rumors that something had transpired between them.

The host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen said: “There was already a lot of talks that the music video was referencing a secret fling that you had with Liam Hemsworth while he was with Miley Cyrus” during a round of Plead The Fifth. Would you kindly respond to this?

She emphasized that she had kissed Hemsworth once, off-camera, years after the couple had broken up and before they had gotten back together. The American actress, whose filmography includes Don’t Look Up, Passengers, and American Hustle, has credits in these films.

Plead The Fifth, a recurrent section on the US talk program alludes to the US constitution’s guarantee of the right to silence when confronted with criminal charges.

The Hunger Games movies, which are sci-fi, dystopian-style film adaptations of the Suzanne Collins novels, starred Lawrence and Hemsworth as co-stars.

It was rumored that Cyrus’s appearance in the gold hooded dress she wore in the Flowers music video, which is thought to be a breakup song about Hemsworth, was a reference to the outfit Jennifer Lawrence wore to the 2012 premiere of The Hunger Games with Hemsworth.

After meeting on the set of the 2010 romance film The Last Song, Hemsworth wed Hannah Montana star Cyrus in 2018.

After formally divorcing in 2020, Cyrus revealed in an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music: “I felt like my tale and my narrative had kind of been told for me over the past year.

“It goes without saying that I went through a very public break-up and, even worse, a divorce, with someone I had been with for ten years.

“I had a villainous feeling. Because it was somewhat disrespectful of me to interact with the press and the media at that time, I also felt like I kind of shut down.

“It felt like I would rather be able to articulate this experience in a poetic way that also I can put back into my art. I never really have engaged. I’ve only played with the public and the perception in that way.”

Lawrence was promoting the comedy flick No Hard Feelings when she made her remarks.
