Jeremy Renner Expresses Love to Fans After Being Run Over by Six-Tonne Snowplough

Following his six-tonne snowplow running him over, actor Jeremy Renner has thanked his supporters for their “kind sentiments” while he recovers in the hospital.

Two days after the event, which took place close to his house, the 51-year-old Marvel actor provided a status update on social media.

After being injured in an accident close to the Mount Rose Highway, which connects south Reno and Lake Tahoe and spans the Nevada-California border, Renner was airlifted to the hospital on Sunday. He had suffered “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”

He informed supporters he was “too messed up” to send a longer message after posting a photo of himself in a hospital bed with a bruised face on his official Instagram profile.

“Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all,” he wrote.

Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam stated at a press conference on Tuesday that Renner was assisting a family member who had become stuck in deep snow when the incident took place.

According to Sheriff Balaam, a call about a collision involving a SnowCat ploughing machine and a person came into the Sheriff’s office at 8:55 a.m.

“Based on our investigation, Mr. Renner’s vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, had become stuck in the snow near his home,” Sheriff Balaam told the news conference.

“Mr. Renner went to retrieve his… SnowCat, an extremely large piece of snow removal equipment, weighing at least 14,330 pounds (6.4 tonnes), in an effort to get his vehicle moving.”

According to Sheriff Balaam, Renner was able to release his car, and just as he got out to speak with the family member, the SnowCat started to roll.

He claimed that Renner had attempted to get back into the vehicle when he was struck by a vehicle. Sheriff Balaam stated that the occurrence had been a “tragic accident” and that there were no indications of “any foul play.”

He continued by praising Jeremy Renner, an honorary deputy sheriff for Washoe County, for his “tremendous influence” on the neighborhood.

“He’s had a huge impact, not only in this office and helping us with our outreach… but throughout the community, he has been very generous,” Sheriff Balaam said.

“He is one of those individuals that, most of the time you don’t know that he’s doing it, but he has made a tremendous impact on this community.”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is well-known for the role of Hawkeye that Renner, a two-time Oscar candidate, played.

He has also appeared in movies including American Hustle, The Hurt Locker, and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

He also appears in the Paramount+ series The Mayor Of Kingstown, the second season of which will make its UK debut on the service on January 16.

The family of Jeremy Renner would like to express their gratitude to the amazing doctors and nurses caring for him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Carano and Murdock families, according to a statement provided to the PA news agency by Renner’s publicist.

“They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
