A judge has reportedly rejected DDG’s motion to prevent his ex-girlfriend, Halle Bailey, from traveling internationally with their son, Halo.
According to TMZ, the rapper and streamer’s attempt to secure a temporary restraining order against actress and singer Bailey was denied on Thursday (June 5). This decision permits her to travel freely with their one-year-old son for personal or professional purposes.
“I must be on set in Italy to film a movie,” Halle stated in court documents filed in response to DDG on June 4.
“I am contractually bound to be there from June 7, 2025, to August 4, 2025. Darryl has known about this work obligation for months. This is my source of income, on which Halo and I rely to pay all bills.”
The filing, reviewed by Complex, further noted, “Darryl has not contributed any regular support since Halo was born. I will be held liable for damages to this film if I am not there, which I believe would be a breach of my contract. I cannot leave Halo with Darryl, as Darryl will be out of town a majority of those months. Halo is also a protected person by the Court’s Temporary Restraining Order.”
On May 13, a judge awarded Halle temporary sole legal custody of Halo and issued a restraining order prohibiting DDG from coming within 100 yards of her. In her filings, she alleged physical and verbal abuse and claimed her ex incited his fanbase to direct online harassment toward her.
She was set to depart for Italy with Halo for a two-month work commitment on Saturday, June 7.
Halo’s father submitted his response petition on June 4, the day Halle’s temporary restraining order expired.
In court documents, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. claimed that Halle presents an “imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child based on repeated, documented threats of self-harm.” He requested that her travel be restricted to California and that she surrender Halo’s passport to his attorney, Larry Bakman, by June 16.
The father also expressed concerns that Bailey might abduct Halo, citing a history of: “abusing [DDG], child abuse, taking away or hiding [Halo], threatening to take away or hide [Halo] and not cooperating” in parenting.
DDG urged the judge to prohibit Halle Bailey from engaging in abusive behaviors, including harassment, threats, assault, stalking, property destruction, surveillance, and online impersonation. He also sought a no-contact order and a 100-yard stay-away order for himself, Halo, his home, workplace, or job.
The streamer requested permission from the judge to record calls or communications with Halle. Additionally, DDG asked the judge to bar Bailey from seeking out his and Halo’s residential addresses or locations and to prevent her from relocating without his or the court’s consent.
