July 16th: Weekly Catch-Up On Naija’s Political Drama: Peter Obi Can Only Be President Of Igbo Land; APC pays Portable Money To Campaign; Others

Peter Obi Can Only Become President Of Igbo Land, Not Nigeria.

APC’s Vice-Presidential Candidate and Former governor of Borno State, Shettima Kashim had stated during the week that Peter Obi, flag bearer for the Labour Party, cannot become the president of Nigeria.

According to Shettima, Peter Obi can only become president of Igbo land and not Nigeria.

Speaking on Channels TV, Shettima, the running mate of Bola Ahmed Tinubu said, “The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has no political base and structure to win the next coming election in 2023. As far as I am concerned he’s politically structureless with little or no experience to lead this country.

“Nigeria requires a technocrat and a sound Administrator who will continue from where President Muhammadu Buhari stopped not someone who will come to take us back in the era of PDP. Nigerians don’t want that.

“Our Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the right person needed for this position in a time like this. He’s a unifier, an Administrator, a technocrat name it. That is why Nigerians both old and young are rallying around him to ensure that he wins the forthcoming election.

“Presidential position is not for the unprepared neither is it an all comers affairs. Peter Obi can only become a President in Igboland but definitely not in Nigeria. Nigeria is too big for him to handle. He has no leadership ideology nor experiences like President Muhammadu and our incoming President in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Kwankwaso Selects Questionable Pastor Running Mate.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate for the NNPP has selected his running mate ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The former governor of Kano State announced Archbishop Isaac Idahosa of the God First Ministry, located at Ajah, Lagos as his vice presidential candidate for the 2023 election.

Hours after his announcement, controversial videos of the pastor conducting service in his church surfaced online.

In what seemed to be an impartation service, Kwankwaso’s running mate could be seen in some viral videos, performing abnormal moves similar to another controversial preacher, Prophet Odumeje.

See videos below of Archbishop Idahosa conducting a regular church service.

100 Billion Donation For Peter Obi

On Thursday, July 14th, Nigerians took to Twitter to call on Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, to provide an account for donations.

The supporters of Peter Obi, desiring a better Nigeria, requested that an account be provided as they wish to donate to financially support the movement.

The request, followed by a “#100BillionForPeterObiCampaign” hashtag, claims to provide 100 billion Naira to cover any financial expenses that may stand as an obstacle to the movement.

However, the Labour Party is yet to provide any account details for public donations.

APC Paid Me To Campaign For Them And I Will Do It” – Portable.

Nigerian Musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, revealed that the All Progressive Congress (APC), paid him to campaign for the Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola’s second term and Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential aspiration.

According to Portable, he was paid to defame Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the end sars protest, but his position changed as the former governor has given him money.

Portable who spoke in Yoruba said, “If they pay you money, you have to work. I was once paid to insult Tinubu during the protests. That was a long time ago. Now, APC has said Akoi Tinubu.

“If they pay you, do your job, no ripping. When I was asked to insult Tinubu, I collected my money and did my job. Now Tinubu is the next. They’re the ones that gave me money, and I must do the work for the money I collected. Akoi APC.”

Keep in mind that Portable was not popular until December 2021, when featured Olamide in his song, Zazuu Zeh.

This raises the question of ‘who would pay Portable any amount of money at all to defame anybody in 2020 when he wasn’t even known past the streets?

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
