There has been a rising call for Canadian citizens, and indeed, citizens of affected countries to get their COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots.

As a way of curbing the spread, some countries have imposed travelling restrictions on countries with an increasing rate of COVID-19 infection, especially the Omicron variant.

The PUNCH had reported that the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,  Ifedayo Adetifa, in a statement, had insisted that the country would continue to require COVID-19 test results from inbound and outbound passengers.

According to the NCDC boss, the country had reported no fewer than 18,000 imported cases of COVID-19 from other countries in a short period.
