Just In: Manchester United Responds After Cristiano Ronaldo Takes A Hit At The Club

Manchester United has issued a statement in response to striker Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with British veteran journalist Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo recently came all-out at the club, stating that he has been disrespected by the manager, Erik ten Hag, and is not wanted at the club anymore.

He said, “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you [Erik ten Hag] don’t have respect for me, I’m never going to have respect for you.”

He added, “Yes [I feel like I’m being forced out], by not only the coach, but two or three guys around the club [senior executives].”

He also took a hit at the club’s owners, claiming that he meet the club the way it was when he left for Real Madrid in 2009.

According to Cristiano, no infrastructural improvement has been made in the club. The pool, staff, technology and others are still the same.

He said, “I think the fans should know the truth. I want the best for the club. This is why I come to Manchester United. But you have some things inside that don’t help [us] reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal.

“The progress was zero. Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed.”

However, the Portuguese stated that he loved the fans as they are always behind him and support him.

He said, “The fans for me are everything. This is why I give this interview because I think it’s the right time to speak my mind.

“They are the most important things in football. You play for them. They are always on my side. I feel that every time when I go out, when I walk in the streets, the fans come up to me and they appreciate what I do for football.”

Meanwhile, reacting to the interview, Manchester United in a statement via its website on Monday said: “Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.

“The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.

“Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.”
