Just In: The Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Sunusi Is Dead

Alhaji Dr Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, the Emir of Dutse, has reportedly passed away.

The monarch reportedly passed away in Abuja on Tuesday night, though details of his passing were hazy at the time of publication.

It was rumoured that the prominent Jigawa monarch had been ill for some time.

He was born in 1945 in the Jigawa State capital of Dutse’s Yargaba village. Dr Sanusi attended Dutse Elementary School from 1952 to 1956.

Following his secondary education, he graduated from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, with a National Certificate in Education (NCE), and later went on to Ohio University in the United States of America to earn a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in International Business.

Additionally, he received a Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Project Planning and Analysis from Bradford University in the United Kingdom.

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, also presented the emir with an honorary PhD in Management.

He gained significant expertise in industrial and commercial management as well as agricultural consultation after working for a period.

Under his leadership, Dutse Emirate underwent a transformation from a sleepy village to a flourishing city where the level of educational and spiritual consciousness of its citizens was reignited.
