American actor, Kevin Spacey has entered a “not guilty” plea to new allegations of s*xual assault brought against him in the UK.
The 63-year-old actor and “House of Cards” and “American Beauty” star made a video link appearance at Southwark Crown Court in south London, today, January 13th.
This comes after he was hit with new charges in November involving one man, bringing his total number of charges in the UK to 12.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) of the UK said In a statement at the time: “The CPS has authorized additional criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 63, for a number of s*xual assaults against one man between 2001 and 2004.
“The CPS has also authorized one charge of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. The authority to charge follows a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.”
The date of the trial has been set for June 6, according to the outlet, which is also the day that Spacey will show up in court to answer to several charges of s*xual assault in London that he pled “not guilty” to in July.
Last month, the actor used Zoom to make an earlier court appearance to address the allegations.
Beginning in 2017, Spacey first encountered a number of allegations of sexual assault. The first came from 51-year-old Anthony Rapp, who claimed that the actor had made advances toward him when he was just 14 years old.
Following Rapp’s accusation, Spacey both came out as gay and apologized for “what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.”
A New York City jury rejected Rapp’s allegations that the Oscar winner was guilty of battery in October, citing a lack of evidence.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
