Kidnappers Shooting On Highway; Abducts Man Driving With His Wife

Abdullahi Sabo, a resident of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, has been abducted by kidnappers.

According to DailyTrust, Sabo and his spouse were on their way home when their car was stopped by kidnappers on Sabon-Lugbe Airport Road in the capital of the country.

The sad event happened as the victim was driving his Ash-colored Lexus SUV, registered under ABC 769 TP. Witnesses claim that when he drove home after leaving the city centre, assailants in an unmarked Golf car opened fire, causing the SUV’s tyres to go deflated.

Daramola Joseph, a neighbour of the victim who attested to the occurrence, stated;

“They shot the tyres, forcing the vehicle to stop, but before they could get close to the jeep, the man’s wife had escaped. However, they went away with the husband. The man with his wife were returning from the city center and heading towards the access road to Jedo Estate when the gunmen struck.”

This happened less than 48 hours after gunmen broke into Army Estate in Kurudu, Abuja, and took some of the occupants hostage.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike gave locals confidence in their safety at townhall meetings in the Bwari and Gwagwalada Area Councils, stating that sufficient security measures had been implemented. In addition, he declared the capture of a few bandits and their informants.

The FCT police command has not yet responded to this information.
