Killers Of 5-Year-Old Hanifa Abubakar Sentenced To Death By Court

Abdulmalik Tanko, the kidnapper and murderer of 5-year-old Hanifa Abubakar, was given a death by hanging sentence by the Kano State High Court.

The murderer was also given a five-year prison sentence by Justice Usman Naaba for each of the five offences brought against him.

Hashim Isiyaku, the second defendant in the case, was likewise found guilty by the court and given a death by hanging verdict on four charges.

In addition, he faces a two-year prison sentence for kidnapping attempts.

Justice Usman Naaba also ruled the third defendant, Fatima Musa, guilty on four counts in the case of Hanifa’s murder

The owner of the school brutally poisoned the 5-year-old child to death sometime in 2021 after demanding a ransom from her parents.

The five-count charges against the defendant include kidnapping Hanifa Abubakar, abatement, counselling to kidnap her, attempting to kidnap her, and poisoning her to death, according to Justice Usman Naaba, who gave the verdict on Thursday.

Fatima Musa was found guilty of conspiracy and attempted kidnapping and was given a one-year sentence on each of the two offences because she is a nursing mother.
