Kylian Mbappe Nominated For The Ligue 1 Player of the Year, While Messi And Neymar…….

Lionel Messi and Neymar were overlooked for the Ligue 1 Player of the Year title this year, but their PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe was nominated for the prestigious end-of-season honours.

Kylian Mbappe, who is 23 years old, leads the French league in goals and assists and is one of the five players nominated for the award by the French players’ union (UNFP).

PSG won their 10th Ligue 1 title this season thanks to Mbappe’s 25 goals and 15 assists.

Messi, on the other hand, has four goals and 13 assists for PSG this season, while Neymar has 11 goals and six assists.

Rennes striker Martin Terrier and Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder, all of whom have 21 goals in Ligue 1, were also nominated, as were Marseille’s Dimitri Payet and Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta.

PSG’s Mbappe was its only player to make the final list.

However, Gianluigi Donnarumma of PSG has been nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year with Walter Benitez of Nice, Pau Lopez of Marseille, Matz Sels of Strasbourg, and Alban Lafont of Nantes.

Despite leading PSG to the league title, Mauricio Pochettino is not named Coach of the Year.

Jorge Sampaoli of Marseille, Christophe Galtier of Nice, Bruno Genesio of Rennes, Antoine Kombouare of Nantes, and Julien Stephan of Strasbourg have all been nominated for coach of the year.
