Amy Chang, a TikTok celebrity who shares frequent beauty tips and identifies herself as “skin and hair-obsessed” has over 1.3 million followers on social media.

She recently took to the video-sharing platform to share an important tip for anyone considering cutting their hair short as according to her, there is an easy way to see if it would fit you.

Following her guide, you will only need two pencils and a tape measure to conduct the test on yourself, and you’ll know whether chopping it off is the best option.

Amy, whose name on TikTok is @Bondenavant, said: “This is an easy way to know if short hairstyle will look good on you.

“All you need is two pencils and a measuring tape. Put the pencil underneath your chin.

“You place the second one at the base of your ear – the angle/length of your jaw is everything.

“If the distance is greater than 2 1/4in (5.17cm), then longer hair will look good on you. If it’s shorter than 2 1/4in, then shorter hair will look good on you.”

Amy was soon swamped with comments from people promising to attempt the approach.

A follower said: “I’m debating on chopping my it off. Thank you.”

Another wrote: “This really works in my opinion. I’ve always looked so much better with longer hair.”
