Lagos Residents Nab Islamic Cleric With Human Skull

Residents of the Adamo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State, have arrested an Islamic preacher known as Babalola for possessing a human skull.

On Saturday, January 20, 2023, an X user, Uncle Deji @DejiAdesogan, reported that the cleric was arrested along with four other suspects on Thursday and turned over to authorities.

A citizen, known only as Ayo, told reporters that Babalola is the Chief Imam Adamo Central Mosque.

Another homeowner and eyewitness reported that one of the accused was apprehended with the human skull and admitted to working for his principal, Imam Babalola.

“I have known the Imam for more than 5 years and this is a man the whole community is standing behind to pray, someone that most of us are looking up to,” the source said.

“People caught one of his men with the head and some human parts, and he confessed that he was holding them for the Imam. This was when the people stormed the Imam’s house and arrested him together with four of his men,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command praised Adamo people of Ikorodu for apprehending the culprits.

Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesperson for the state police command, told locals in a Saturday post on X that justice will be served.

“We commend the good people of Ikorodu for doing the right thing and not yielding to jungle justice. We will ensure justice is done,” Hundeyin said while retweeting the post by an X user, @DejiAdesogan, about the incident.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
