Lisa Marie Presley “Lit Up Every Room,”: Nicolas Cage Mourns

According to Nicolas Cage, his ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley had “the finest laugh of anyone I ever met” and “lit up every room.”

Lisa Marie Presley “lit up every room” and had “the finest laugh of anyone I ever met.”

The US singer’s passing left the Hollywood actor “heartbroken,” but he took comfort in the idea that she had been reunited with her son, Benjamin Keough.

Shortly after their August 2002 nuptials, in November, Cage filed for divorce, which was eventually granted in 2004.

On Thursday, Presley’s family revealed that she had passed away at the age of 54.

The singer, the only child of Elvis, had just been “rushed” to the hospital earlier in the day when it happened.

“I’ve dealt with death, grief, and loss since the age of nine years old. I’ve had more than anyone’s fair share of it in my lifetime and somehow, I’ve made it this far,” she wrote in August.

Cage said in a statement provided to the PA news agency: “This is devastating news.

“This is devastating news.

“Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken. I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin.”

Presley’s son committed suicide in 2020, and last year she wrote an essay about “the horrific reality” of her grief after his passing. The essay was published by the US publication People.

Presley wed four times in total: first to musician Danny Keough, then to Michael Jackson, then to Nicolas Cage, and finally to record producer Michael Lockwood. Her union with Jackson, which lasted from 1994 to 1996, was undoubtedly her most well-known one because it brought together the so-called King of Pop with the daughter of The King.

Late Michael Jackson’s sister; La Toya Jackson declared that Presley would “forever be in our hearts.”

“We miss you Lisa! You will forever be in our hearts, I will never forget how much you shared the love you had for my brother with me, I thank you for being so honest #RIP,” La Toya wrote alongside a video montage of images of her late brother and Presley set to Michael’s song You Are Not Alone.

The new Elvis Presley biopic’s director, Baz Luhrmann, stated elsewhere that he would miss Presley’s “warmth, smile, and affection.”

Two days after she attended the Golden Globes, where Austin Butler won best actor for playing her father in Baz Luhrmann’s movie, she passed away.

Presley stated she was “overwhelmed” by the movie and the impact it made during a pre-ceremony appearance at the Golden Globes.

“I’m very proud and I know that my father would be very proud…I’m overwhelmed with gratitude,” she said.

On Instagram, Luhrmann wrote beside a photo of Butler and Presley smiling: “Over the last year, the entire Elvis movie family and I have felt the privilege of Lisa Marie’s kind embrace.”

Lisa Marie Presley is so loved by many and will be so missed. May her rest in peace, Amen.
