Man Detained in Bristol During Investigation Into Dead Bodies Found In Suitcases

A guy has been taken into custody by police who are looking into the deaths of two men whose bodies were discovered in two suitcases in Bristol. On Friday, further human remains were discovered at a location on Scotts Road in Shepherd’s Bush, west London. Early on Saturday morning, a 34-year-old male was taken into custody in the Bristol region as a result of a coordinated operation by the Metropolitan Police and the Avon and Somerset Police.

He was arrested at Temple Meads Station by armed officers and placed in detention. Later on Saturday, he will be questioned in London.

Yostin Andres Mosquera, a 34-year-old national of Colombia, was previously listed by the police as someone they wanted to find and talk to.

“This is a significant development in our investigation and I would like to thank the public for their support,” Scotland Yard Deputy Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine said.

“Anyone with any concerns is encouraged to speak with them. We understand the concerns of local communities in both Bristol and London. Officers will remain in the Clifton and Shepherd’s Bush areas over the coming days to reassure those affected by this tragic incident,” the statement reads.

No one else is being sought by the police. According to authorities, the remains discovered in the two suitcases disposed of close to the Clifton Suspension Bridge on Wednesday are thought to be related to those at the Scotts Road residence.

Just after 9.20 a.m. on Saturday, a police forensic services van pulled up to the crime scene in the capital. A perimeter was taped off the area, guarded by three officers. Official identification of the two remaining male victims has not yet occurred, although police suspect there are still two.

After being detained in Greenwich on Friday about the investigation, a 36-year-old man was subsequently freed without being charged.
