Man Nabbed In Lagos School Two Months After He Allegedly R@ped Minor

An unidentified man has been apprehended while attempting to sexually assault a secondary school student, an incident that occurred two months after he is said to have raped a minor in the Ojodu area of Lagos State.

According to Punch, the suspect was captured on the premises of a school on Wednesday after the survivor spotted him and raised an alarm.

Outraged residents subsequently took the suspect to the Ojodu Police Division, which is situated at the Grammar School Bus Stop along Ogunnusi Road.

One of the residents, speaking on condition of anonymity, explained that the suspect operates as a shoe repairer in the vicinity and had previously made an attempt to rape another student from the same school.

“The man came to the girl’s house and asked her for water, saying that he was thirsty. When she went to bring it, he forced his way in and raped her. The girl didn’t tell anyone, not even her parents. But she wrote the whole thing in a diary, and someone saw it, and that was how it became known,” the resident recounted.

“It was just today that the school principal knew about this whole issue when the suspect walked into the school, and the girl recognised him. As for the girl he tried to rape, she said she went for a church programme and went to the restroom to ease herself, but she didn’t close the door, thinking that it was a girls-only toilet.

“The suspect had followed her, barged into the restroom and tried to force himself on her. Fortunately, she was able to hit him and run out. I don’t know this guy’s name, but I see him around here, walking about and acting like he is homeless. Some people said he has a shop where he mends shoes.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
