Man Remanded In Prison For Sodomizing A 9-Year-Old Boy

Haruna Mustapha, 27, was remanded in jail on Wednesday, October 4, by the orders of a Chief Magistrate court in Kaduna state, for sodomizing a nine-year-old boy.

Haruna Mustapha is accused of committing an “unnatural” offence.

Chidi Leo, the prosecutor, informed the court that the accused had committed the crime on September 28 at his Kinkinau home.

He claimed that at around 12:30 p.m. on the same day, the defendant tricked and lured a nine-year-old boy into his living room, where they engaged in various acts of anal s*x.

The defendant was apprehended and turned over to the authorities after a neighbour overheard the boy crying in the defendant’s room, according to the prosecutor.

The prosecutor stated that the offence violated section 257 of the Kaduna State Penal Code, 2020 (as amended).

The prosecutor was instructed to duplicate the case file and submit a copy to the director of public prosecution for legal advice after the magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, refused to accept the defendant’s plea.

In addition, he mandated that the defendant remains in prison custody until the DPP’s conclusion was received.

Mr. Emmanuel postponed the judgement on the case until November 2.
