Man Throws His Mother-in-law From 5th Floor Balcony

A man was taken into custody after he threw his mother-in-law from a fifth-floor balcony, claiming that she was “too much of a burden.”

In the Russian city of Artyom in the Primorsky region, the man is said to have dropped the 84-year-old woman from an apartment block 50 feet away.

She instantly passed out from several wounds. Police have taken her 54-year-old son-in-law into custody on a murderous accusation.

The suspect told officers he wanted to ‘relieve’ his son of carrying duties for the pensioner, as she allegedly had “limited mobility, and did not want his son to continue caring for her. Believing that this was too much of a burden, he threw the victim from the 5th-floor balcony.”

For a period of two months, the suspect remains in detention while more investigations are conducted.

He would probably spend 15 years in prison if found guilty.

This occurred just a few days after a mother who dropped her newborn daughter out of a window because she was afraid a baby would destroy her career was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.

At the Heilbronn District Court on Wednesday, July 3, Katarina Jovanovic, 28, of Lauffen am Neckar, Baden-Wuerttemberg State, Germany, was found guilty of manslaughter.

Judges heard how, on September 12, ten months prior, she had secretly given birth at home and then dropped her infant daughter from her flat window, nearly twelve feet down to the tarmac below.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
