Manchester Synagogue Terrorist Shouted ‘This Is What They Get For K!lling Our Children’

The jihadist terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie, responsible for the fatal assault on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue located in Manchester, had been released on police bail in connection with an alleged sexual assault just prior to carrying out the event. Eyewitnesses reported that he yelled, “This is what they get for killing our children,” while attempting to break into the synagogue amid Thursday’s observance of the Yom Kippur holiday service.

Two individuals, Adrian Daulby, aged 53, and Melvin Cravitz, aged 66, both residents of Crumpsall, lost their lives in their efforts to block Al-Shamie from gaining access. Heavily armed officers from the police force, responding in under seven minutes following the initial distress call, fatally shot Al-Shamie on the spot. Amid the ensuing disorder, the responding officers unintentionally fired upon Daulby as well as a separate onlooker, with the latter individual managing to survive the incident.

Officials from Greater Manchester Police have verified that an additional three victims are still receiving medical treatment in the hospital, among them a security personnel member and an employee from the Community Security Trust organization. A total of six people have now been taken into custody amid continuing probes examining Al-Shamie’s personal history and connections.

Officials subsequently verified that the explosive apparatus attached to Al-Shamie’s chest area turned out to be a hoax, and they indicated that he could have been swayed by radical Islamist beliefs. Oversight bodies for the police have launched a formal investigation to determine if the deployment of deadly force by the officers played a role in causing Daulby’s demise.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer, present at a memorial gathering alongside various high-ranking government figures, called for any scheduled demonstrations in Manchester and London to either be called off entirely or delayed in deference to the sorrow-stricken Jewish population, describing the situation as “a moment of mourning, not a time to stoke tension.” At the same vigil, Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy faced jeers from the crowd, whereas Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper came under pressure from Israel’s foreign minister to impose stricter controls on rallies supporting the Palestinian cause.

Numerous expressions of condolence and admiration flooded in regarding the deceased. The relatives of Daulby portrayed him as “a hero who tragically lost his life in the act of courage to save others,” whereas the kin of Cravitz honored his memory by noting him as “kind, caring, and devoted to his wife and family.”

Members of Al-Shamie’s own family issued public statements denouncing his conduct and making clear their separation from the violent episode. That said, earlier entries on social media from his father, Faraj Al-Shamie, who works as a surgeon specializing in trauma cases, showed endorsements of Hamas activities along with commendations for missile launches by Iran targeting urban areas in Israel.

Alan Levy, serving as the chairman of the board of trustees for the synagogue, described how he and fellow worshippers reinforced the entrances by blocking them as Al-Shamie sought to shatter his path inward: “He had a big knife, banging it into the glass, trying to get through. He couldn’t because we were holding the doors firm.”

This assault, ranking among the most lethal episodes of antisemitism in the United Kingdom’s recent timeline, has heightened discussions surrounding protective measures, radicalization trends, and persistent rallies linked to the protracted Israel-Gaza hostilities.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
