Marcus Rashford’s Brother Is Accused Of ‘Punching’ His Girlfriend

According to a Florida police report, the brother of Manchester United player Marcus Rashford is accused of striking his fiancée in the face after stealing her phone to check for texts from another man.

Early on October 20, as the football agent and his companion were sleeping at the Kimpton Angler’s Hotel in Miami Beach, a staff member noticed a woman walking through the lobby with her nose cut.

Officers heard a “verbal altercation” between a male and female, later identified as 31-year-old Marcus Rashford and Andrea Pocrnja, the mother of his 14-month-old child, when they arrived outside room 335.

As the two made their way home from the hip Miami nightclub E11even, the England football star’s sibling allegedly “went through the victim’s phone and found text messages from her and another male.”

“The arrestee stated that he pushed the victim while they were in the Uber,” the report states.

Pocrnja was lying on the bed crying and had “visible injuries to her face,” the complaint goes on.

“The victim stated that the arrestee struck her in the face twice with a closed fist. The arrestee then got out of the Uber and walked away with the victim’s phone.”

“Once the victim was inside their hotel room, the arrestee entered the hotel room and a verbal argument ensued in regard to the text messages he saw on her phone.

“The victim was on the phone with the front desk in an attempt to get the Wi-Fi password so that she could disable her phone that the arrestee had at the time.

“The arrestee assumed that the victim was calling the police and a physical altercation began, which she does not remember specifics of because she was intoxicated.”

According to the article, the couple’s toddler was being watched by Rashford’s sister Chantelle Maynard, who was there in the hotel room with the child when the altercation occurred.

She saw her brother get upset and strike a closet door, breaking it visibly.

But “the witness stated that she did not see the arrestee strike the victim at any point,” the complaint says.

Pocrnja, who has been dating Marcus Rashford for four years and lives with him in Wilmslow, a town outside of Manchester in northwest England, was brought to a different hotel room because she felt “unsafe,” while Rashford was taken to jail at 3:30 in the morning.

The complaint further states that she was attended to by a first responder and that police took pictures of her injuries. Nothing about her being brought to the hospital is mentioned.

A $1,500 cash bail was used to free Marcus Rashford. He was told not to speak to his purported victim.

He entered a written plea of not guilty to the misdemeanor of battery and is scheduled to appear in court on November 27 for his arraignment.

A week following his arrest, Dane’s bond was paid by Chantelle Maynard, according to police documents from Miami-Dade County.

Pretrial ‘stay-away’ order, which forbids communication with the accused victim, was also given to him.

The assistant state prosecutor for Miami-Dade County, Daysi Vega-Mendez, stated to The Telegraph that they were unsure if Dane remained in the country.

“The case is still active, at the moment I haven’t been able to get hold of the victim,’ they said. ‘Our office is trying to get hold of the UK Embassy because we need permission to speak to the victim.

“I am not sure whether they are still in the United States or if they have left the country. I understand they were on vacation. Technically once you are charged you are not supposed to leave the country. When a person is given a bond if they leave, they surrender that bond.”
