Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United player, has been accused of sexual assault and domestic abuse by his ex-girlfriend, Harriet Robson.
Robson publicized her injuries in a series of social media posts after Greenwood reportedly forced himself on her.
Her thighs were bruised in several of the images she uploaded, and blood flowed from her mouth to her chest in another.
She also shared an audio recording to show that Greenwood actually forced himself on her as she accused him of.
The post on her Instagram was captioned: “To everyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood actually does to me.”
The images and audio did however get the attention of the public with many expressing their anger and disgust at the actions of the footballer.
The player, on the other hand, has yet to respond to the charges.
Manchester United, meanwhile, has published a statement stating that they do not condone any form of violence.
The Old Trafford club made it plain that they are aware of “images and allegations” about the 20-year-old striker that have surfaced on social media.
The statement reads: “We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media.
“We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established.
“Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”
Greenwood, a product of Manchester United’s academy, has 35 goals in 129 games for the club.
The Red Devils’ next match will be in the FA Cup on February 4th, when they face Middlesbrough.
