Mayweather To Fight Asakura In An Exhibition Bout In Japan

Floyd Mayweather will take part in an exhibition fight against mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Mikuru Asakura in Japan later this year, organizers said on Tuesday (Jul 14).

Promoters said the bout is scheduled for September. The exact date, venue, and rules for the fight will be announced later this month.

Just over three years ago in Japan, he knocked out Tenshin Nasukawa, a well-known Japanese kickboxer, while he faced former sparring partner Don Moore in Abu Dhabi last month, and faced YouTuber Logan Paul over eight rounds last summer.q

Mayweather was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday in the United States.
This will be Mayweather’s second exhibition bout in Japan, following his first-round TKO win over kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018.

His most recent fight was an exhibition bout against Don Moore in Abu Dhabi in Ma and the y, which he won.
