Media Personality Ifedayo Agoro Speaks Out Against Brides Being Asked To Kneel To Feed Husbands At Weddings

Ifedayo Agoro, a media personality and influencer, has shared her opinions about the tradition of brides kneeling at wedding rituals to feed their husbands.

In an interview with Frank and Ife on Middle Ground, Ifedayo stated that she doesn’t feel comfortable with the practice herself.

“I fed you cake during our wedding, but I just didn’t kneel down,” she told her husband, Frank, during the conversation.

Frank went on to explain the cultural meaning behind the gesture.

“The custom is that a bride learns how to feed her husband properly. You kneel down to give me the cake, and when you go into your husband’s house you follow suits, that’s how you follow the tradition,” he said.

Responding, Ifedayo maintained that she didn’t want to pretend.

“I know, and that’s the issue. I didn’t want to be a hypocrite because I never used to kneel down,” she said.

I feel respect and equality should always be prioritized in marriage traditions.
