Mother Drowns Her Baby To Prove Her Boyfriend Is First Priority

A mother from Minnesota is charged with drowning her child in the bathtub, and then sending her boyfriend a picture of the child’s lifeless body.

According to CBS News, which cited the criminal complaint, Esperanza Rae Harding, 20, has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the death of her son.

The complaint states that on March 6, Harding went to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis and said her kid had passed away there five days earlier from natural causes. But there was no documentation of the child’s presence.

During an interview with police, Harding is said to have admitted to drowning the child on February 28 in a bathtub at a Bloomington hotel. The accusation claims that after drowning him, she threw his body in the trash and placed it inside a rucksack.

The complaint claims that she claimed she drowned the boy because she was seeing another man who didn’t like him and wanted her to give him up for adoption.

According to rumours, Harding intended to give the child up for adoption in order to show her partner that he was her first priority—not her child.

According to the complaint, the mother informed police that she lost her temper when her son began crying as she was trying to take a bath.

According to the complaint, Harding allegedly sent a text to her boyfriend, Edwin Trudeau, stating: “I’m about to do something bad, Please answer me, He going to not be here much longer.”

According to the complaint, police also allegedly found a picture of the child facedown in the shower on her phone.

“He was really happy. He enjoyed life,” the boy’s father, Jesús Cazares, said. “He was always laughing, just joking.”

“Right now I have more anger than sadness,” Cazares added.

The boy’s body is still missing.

“I don’t want anything else other than just to find my son and give him the peace he needs,” Cazares said.

Trudeau is facing a single allegation of providing post-committal assistance to an offender.

Harding is accused of killing someone in the second degree.
