Motherhood: Essential Strategies for Raising A Strong And Confident Daughter (7)

Hello Great Mothers!

Raising bold and confident girls is a challenging yet crucial task, primarily because society imposes limitations on the growth and development of women in various aspects of life.

While there are remarkable women who have managed to overcome these societal barriers and achieve great success in their careers, their journeys are often marked by struggles and significant challenges. These women, as highlighted in my previous articles, have stories of resilience—tales of how they surmounted societal pressures, gender biases, and opposition from both men and women alike to reach their current heights.

As discussed earlier, women are inherently endowed with incredible strength, grace, love, and intelligence. They possess the unique ability to multitask effectively, balancing numerous responsibilities while excelling in each.

However, society has traditionally confined women to domestic roles, limiting their opportunities to rise professionally and reach their full potential outside the home. Only a small percentage of women globally have been able to break free from these constraints.

Nevertheless, we can raise our daughters to be part of this group by intentionally nurturing their boldness, confidence, and self-belief, refusing to allow society to define or limit them.

Another strategy we can use to empower our girls to grow into bold, and confident women is:

Encourage your Girl to Focus on Developing Skill Independent of Appearance

It is common for society to place significant emphasis on a girl’s physical appearance, often encouraging her to be highly conscious of how she looks and what she owns.

However, it is vital to encourage and support girls in developing skills and abilities beyond their appearance. Focusing solely on a girl’s physical appearance can inadvertently teach her to prioritize external validation over internal growth.

Encourage your daughters to participate in activities that enhance their self-worth and confidence, such as sports, arts, music, technology, or writing. The experiences gained from these activities will help them discover and nurture their talents early in life.

When they encounter challenges or failures in these activities, offer encouragement and be their biggest supporter. As they improve and excel, their confidence will naturally grow.

“Women are strong, not weak. God has given us the power to birth and nurture world leaders and to become whoever we aspire to be.”
