Motherhood: Mom-Teenage Son Conversations That Matter (10)

Let’s Talk About S*x

Mama, our homes are the first schools our sons ever attend—and we are their first teachers. That’s why conversations about s*x must start with us, not with the world. If we don’t speak up early and honestly, they’ll believe whatever they hear out there—and many boys are being misled daily.

The truth is, s*x is not just about pleasure or excitement—it’s emotional, spiritual, and life-defining. Our boys live in a culture that glorifies lust, mocks purity, and calls virginity weakness. But we must rise above that noise and give them truth wrapped in love.

Let your son know: being sxually attracted to a girl is natural, but acting on those feelings too soon can lead to serious consequences. Early sx clouds his judgment, steals his focus, and ties him emotionally to someone he may not marry. It introduces stress, guilt, and even heartbreak he’s not prepared to carry.

And the dangers? They’re real.
A girl could get pregnant, and he’s thrust into a responsibility he’s not ready for—financially, emotionally, or spiritually. In some cases, boys have dropped out of school, faced legal issues, or carried lifelong guilt after an abortion went wrong. Some even end up in jail. One “moment” can redirect an entire future.

Spiritually, it’s a sin before God—a misuse of something sacred. So, let him know: waiting is not weakness—it’s strength, maturity, and purpose. He may be mocked now, but later he will thank God he didn’t follow the crowd. Let him know that saying “NO” today to protect his future tomorrow is real manhood.

1 Corinthians 6:18 says—Flee from sxual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sxually immoral person sins against his own body.”

How did your son respond the first time you talked to him about s*x—and how did you handle it? Kindly share.

Bye!
