MOTHERHOOD: What To Do When You Find Out You Are More Uninvolved In Your Parenting Style

Hi Wonderful Mothers! I welcome you to today’s post on strategies that you can adopt, as a mother, if you discover that you are more uninvolved or neglectful in your parenting. Remember, our goal is to develop our beautiful angels into psychologically, socially, and professionally balanced adults. Every mother’s joy is to see her children grow into successful adults with good character, good relationships with others, and the ability to face life without swerving from left to right.

As I mentioned in my previous article, we will need God and a good parenting style to accomplish this. However, because research has shown that we tend to adopt two or more parenting styles, it is preferable to be more authoritative in our parenting style to achieve this result. This is because it entails nurturing with love, setting boundaries, communicating set rules and the reasons for setting them, disciplining with love, and so on. Children nurture with this parenting style are courageous, have good academic performance, have good interpersonal relationships, and so on.

What to do when you find out that you are more uninvolved in your parenting style.
1) Forgive yourself:
It’s natural to feel guilty after discovering that you’re less involved in your parenting style. This is due to your love for your child and your desire to see them grow into a wonderful and well-balanced adult. However, feeling guilty and thinking about being a failed mother will not solve the problem. According to psychologists, no one consciously chooses to be uninvolved in their parenting style.
2) Don’t play blame games:
Psychologists believe that mothers who are less involved in their parenting style are raised by uninvolved parents. It is best not to blame your parents or your guidance. Blame games have never helped to solve any problems; instead, they make one feel more guilty, provide reasons for one’s attitude, and blindfold one from seeing reasons for change.
3) Tell God about it.
4) Read more about parenting;
Parenting books and journals should be studied. Take course as well if necessary.
5) Be determined and get involved:
Make a conscious effort to spend more time with your kids. Set rules and stick to them. Learn about their lives by listening to them. It is difficult to change and it may even be more difficult if you are a working mother. Make every effort to devote your undivided attention to your children.

Kindly share your experience on your parenting style and how this article has helped you.
Bye for now!!!
